*** Charleston AFB/Int'l Airport Scenery ***

This is my second attempt at scenery for Charleston. The first was heavy on the frame rates, so keep this from happening again, I hit all the big highlights to make you feel you are at Charleston, without hurting the performance of the computer.

This scenery incorporates an AFCAD file. This file completes the scenery to make it a whole one. YOU MUST HAVE THIS AFCAD FILE INSTALLED TO HAVE THE SCENERY LOOK RIGHT. This AFCAD file is set up to represent Charleston as it exists today. The parking spots are all labeled as best as I could get.

- Known "Bugs"
The first one you might see is that in the North East corner of the military ramp there are three taxiway signs that still show up from the original scenery. I was unable to get rid of them, without getting rid of needed default buildings and such.

There are no taxiway signs along the whole military ramp edge. This is because of the fix needed to make the rampt the right size and shape.

The GA area now has only two big hangers, and more are on the way. I left the default ones in until they are done actually building them, so I can put them in there for real. Unless you drive by them everyday, you won't really notice.

The taxiway structure at the approach end of 21 was left in default. The default is not even near correct, but the cost of fixing it for the scenery didn't outweigh the benefits. So, it is left "as is"

- Charleston for real

Charleston is an international airport as well as a military installation. Because of this, we have every kind of plane that you can imagine. Here are some examples:

Delta, Continental, US Airways, United, Northwest, and in July, Independance Air
Delta flies MD-80's in right now, and US Airways 737's, the rest are all commuter traffic.
World Airways MD-11
An-124 (Volga Dneper or Antonov Design) but maybe every two months or so
747's (Kallita, Polar, UPS, Atlas, etc.)
FedEx A300, MD-11, MD-10, DC-10's
All military heavyies (C-5, C-141, C-130, KC-10, KC-135, etc.)
Fighters all the time from various east coast bases that range from AE-6B's to F-16's to Harriers
Military trainers (Charleston is popular because of the Per Diem rates!)
General Aviation that spans from Cessna 152's to BBJ's. Nothing is out of the ordinary in this area. We even have some amphibius private planes at CHS.

Because of this, my AFCAD file tries to fit all of them. It is built off of my personal flight plans for KCHS, so feel free to customize it to your traffic flow.

- Installation

1. Unzip the Charleston Scenery folder

2. Place the AFCAD file in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder

3. Place Charleston Scenery in your Addon Scenery folder in FS9
(I have my scenery textures in both the scenery file and my master texture folder in FS9. I would advise having the textures in both places as well, for I can not tell you for sure where my computer is reading them from)

4. Start your Flight Sim and add the scenery area

5. Restart Flight Sim and enjoy!!

- Free

This scenery is free (obviously), but may not be changed and redistributed or sold.
